Graphite is a kind of mineral that is regarded as the most stable carbon type there is. Natural graphite is available in three primary types:

Graphite has many properties that make it distinguishable from other minerals and alltropes of carbon. First, if you look at its molecules in a microscopic level, its atoms form a hexagonal pattern with a fixed space between the planes. Second, it is effective at conducting electric power because its carbon deposits are highly electron delocalized. Third, it has thermal and acoustic abilities. Lastly, it has impressive dry lubricating and self-lubricating properties, making it preferred in many sectors.
Graphite may be original or man-made. Natural graphite is commonly used to make steel, rafractories, expanded graphite, foundry facings lubricants and graphite lubricants. Artificial graphite, on the other hand, is often utilized in electrodes, neutron moderator, powder and scrap, along with RCCs or reinforced carbon-carbon goods, like gold clubs, pool cue sticks, fishing rods, and cycle frames.
All over the world, there are many graphite mining pits and locations. In Sri Lanka, there is an underground location where lump or vein graphite can be dug out. Machineries and products like bulldozers are used to quarry the ore and remove the graphite.
